Hippo Krit

One thing I am proud to claim as a strength is the fact that I am not ashamed to admit when I am wrong. If I believe that I am right, I will fight it to the death. But if I realize I am wrong, I will immediately admit it. Believe me, there have been plenty of times. I can think of several examples throughout my life where I have had a nice plate of crow for dinner. Like, when I had serious doubts about a friend's decision to get engaged to a guy she met online, only to get engaged to an onliner of my own a few months later...without even meeting the guy first. Or the time I judged a family member for getting pregnant only three months after getting married, only to have a bun in the oven myself a mere month after getting married. So, yeah, I am the queen of saying "I'll never do that" and then totally doing it later on. The Lord has a way of teaching me valuable lessons about judging or saying "I'll never." I (try to) refrain from using that phrase anymore, because it will inevitably happen. (I tried saying "I'll never be a millionaire" but so far it hasn't paid off.)

Where am I going with this? I'm getting to it. Remember this post? Yeah, well, I'm feeling a bit foolish now. Because some idiot out there with nothing better to do with his/her time has felt the need to start commenting on completely random, old posts of mine with the most ridiculous, nonsensical crap. My old arch-nemesis, Anonymous. Curse you Anonymous!! One day I will find out who you are and I will thrown down, be sure of that.

Why do I care? One, because I don't want their word vomit in my archives, saved on this digital journal of mine, and two, because I get their stupid comments emailed to me and I'm getting at least one a day. Curious about said comments? Here's just a few of the gems:

It agree, it is an amusing piece

Bravo, the excellent answer.

The authoritative answer, funny...I can suggest to visit to you a site on which there is a lot of information on a theme interesting you.

Another was all in Spanish and one that I can't find but wish I could asked me where they could find a unicorn. They are all on posts that are at least 6-18 months old and have nothing to do with what I talked about.
So, needless to say, I am feeling a bit violated and want to put an end to this, even if it means being the biggest hypocrite on the planet. From here on out, you (and by you I mean my five commenters out there) will have to type in gibberish in order to comment. So there, computer-generated Anonymous. Who's laughing now?

On the bright schide (this is actually my word verification for you this very comment, schide) I love looking for fun words in the verification! On Danyelle's post today I had callis! How cool is that! I remember when Jan B. was excited cause she got the word moroni! So keep praying that you never get to be a millionaire and me and the 4 others out there will continue to comment! :)

I too agree with Amy, I love seeing those words! I went through a small phase where I would post the word in my comment as the secret word of the day. The word verifications I cannot stand are the ones you absolutely cannot read, argh!

Melissa was actually saying the other day how some random person was posting comments on her blog that were a little strange too....interesting. How do these people find you?

P.S. The secret word of the day is turagg

figured I would give this commenting thing with word verification a try...not sure it is worth it, but here we go.

ok, I guess that wasn't that bad, I will continue to leave comments (occationally) even with word verification....

actually that last one was a fairly long word, wasn't really worth leaving another comment, maybe I will have to limit myself, if the word verification word is 4-5 letters then I will comment, but longer than that might just wear me out.

Ok, so I've recently started getting these as well, ALL THE TIME. I can't stand them, especially since mine go straight to my email too. But every time I thought to make the switch back, I would think of your post and how much I hated it! So maybe now I should just eat my word too. Your a better person than I am!

Ashley- it's because we do twilight related posts! Almost all of them have been my posts about twilight.

Hmmm...I slightly remember someone telling you about said comment spam when this complaint came up. I even caved to your peer pressure and took off my own comment verification and grumble a little every time I have to delete another piece of spam. I'm such a sucker to peer pressure, who knows how I've survived thus far without succumbing to alcohol and drugs? ;-) That said, count yourself as a popular enough blog that the computer-generated searches out there have found you and decided to spam on you in the hopes that someone will click their links or boost their site popularity by adding weird keywords. Yay, you!

I get them occasionally on my personal blog, but on my company blog, they're almost daily. The same total crap, saying things like "this is most excellent an article. I will enjoy read it to my friend. Also bookmark for more."

Oh, and my super happy fun word is "oundomet". What a lovely word... too bad I'm not having any more kids, I'd totally use that as a name.

You had me laughing a few times in this post, but my favorite line was, "I tried saying "I'll never be a millionaire" but so far it hasn't paid off." Keep trying.

I don't mind word verification too much. btw, mine says "minga". Kinda catchy.

Oh, and I love how you found a no spam picture in your favorite colors. Goes great with your blog too. :)

My word was "ponch". Maybe when you find out who Anonymous is, you can "ponch" them in the face ;)

it's ok, anything to keep you blogging.

I'll keep commenting! There are so many things I said I'd never do that now I do all the time. I was the perfect parent before I had any kids :)

The word verification drives me a little batty but if I had those kinds of comments popping up here and there, I would do the same thing! And I would be a hypocrite too.

word verification: mishoet

Holy cow! How annoying! I got one the other day in Chinese, but when translated, actually did have something to do with my post... kind of weird.

I will still type in word verification, just for you. Hope it solves it!

Me, too, Vanessa! I was also the perfect parent before I had kids... oh well.

Sorry to hear about people spamming you. It sucks. :-\

And the word verification can get annoying, but I understand why you have it on your blog (I have it on mine, as well).

But, the Spanish comment with the unicorn... that's pretty hilarious. lol

(And I just noticed... you can still be anonymous even WITH the word verification. That's retarded. lol)
