Dog Days of Summer

I can't believe it's August. Why does summer always blow by? When I was a kid it seemed like summer lasted forever.

We've had a great summer so far, but I'm starting to get that panicky feeling that it's nearing an end and we haven't done everything yet. Thank goodness my sister made a goal to do one cool, fun thing for her kids every day this week and invited me along. Today we went to the sprinkler park, tomorrow--free books at Barnes and Noble. We're looking forward to Monsters vs. Aliens at the free movie next week and then our Mathews Family Reunion next weekend, which is always a guaranteed blast. We're doing swimming lessons every morning and spend every afternoon at my mom's pool. I guess, in retrospect, I've done a pretty good job of squeezing all the fun stuff into this summer. *Pats her own back*

But the fun part for me has been writing. Sorry if you're all sick to death of hearing about my novel, but it just gets more and more exciting as I go and actually make progress! I am on Chapter Four, which is a HUGE milestone for me. I am loving it, and I hope you will all love it. I have been writing pretty much every spare minute I have and loving it. That's a lot of the reason I haven't been blogging.

Hope you are all having a fun-filled summer as well!

Why haven't I seen you at swim lessons this summer? R u at memorial? I've jumped sessions around from 10:45 to 11:20 this time. Anyway, glad you are having a productive summer. School is just around the corner, aaahh! Maybe I'll see you around.

Marisa, we missed the last two sessions due to unfortunate circumstances, so we're just back this week, at Memorial, but we go at 9:30.

I'm feeling the same way about Summer, it's not supposed to be almost over! When are you going to Monsters vs. Aliens? We haven't seen that one yet. So sad we aren't doing swim lessons together this session...oh well. And of course, I'm super excited for you and your novel...seriously excited!

YAY! I'm so glad to hear you are writing, and loving it! I can't wait to read it.

We missed sign-ups for this session not that I miss all the running around. But I would love to have a reason to get going in the morning.

I can't believe we have less than 4 weeks till the first day of school! So crazy. Call me.

The fact that you are writing and loving it means that you must really be on a role! Whenever I write something I question and second guess it all! I can't wait to get the very first signed copy!

I am so glad to hear you are writing a lot. So, maybe this is a dumb question, but I am wondering if you have a time line for your book, like do you have a goal for yourself to have it finished by a certain date or anything?? Just curious.
