This Is What Happens When My Kids Go To Bed And I Have An Hour Alone With My Thoughts

~ Apparently writing a novel is, like, hard. Who would have thought? I'm starting to worry that my aspirations and my skill do not go hand in hand. What do you do when you have a near obsessive desire to do something that you just might not be good at?

~ My throat seriously hurts from yelling at my kids all day. We just watched Ella Enchanted and now I will dream tonight of kids who have to do what you say and don't have a choice in the matter. I love being a stay-at-home mom, I love being a stay-at-home mom, I love............

~ I am furious about the new song on the radio, "Kissed A Girl." It's frustrating enough to be driving in my car with my kids and have it come on and have to change it, but we were in Subway the other day and it came on and there was nothing I could do. I talked a lot to try and distract them from hearing the words. The worst part about it is it is DANG catchy and I always get it stuck in my head. Even worse is I love the song except for the lyrics. If it was about, oh, I don't know, kissing vampires or something, I'd have downloaded it in a heartbeat.

~ Speaking of vampires, 3 days left!!! (Is anyone planning on going to the B&N bash?)

~ I actually made dinner tonight, vegetables and everything. Go me. And I actually cleaned my bathroom today, even scrubbed my shower floor with a toothbrush. A toothbrush!

~ Is it very obvious that I am bored out of my mind and have absolutely no life? No? Okay, whew.

You're hilarious. I also had a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day with the children who stay at home with me. I'm pretty sure they were thinking daycare sounds pretty fun after today. My shower needs a toothbrush too. Good job Movie Queen.

How about this...you, a toothbrush and my bathrooms? It's a date! :-) You could come yell at my kids, too, they're used to it around here. I have the same thoughts on the song, too. So darn catchy, but the lyrics are seriously straight from the devil's mouth. What scares me most? I would have probably thought that was the coolest song when I was a teenager...seriously freaks me out for my girls.

I watched a show and they had her on and she performed that song. I was so annoyed too, and it's in the top 40 too! And then I found my self singing the lyrics in my head hours after! Very catchy indeed.

I am getting excited about Breaking Dawn too! I finished re-reading the series and now have NOTHING to read!

Haven't heard that song. I'll try not to.

Way to go on being productive today!

It's getting harder and harder to come to your blog with all of the quotes! Seriously, I am so tempted to just peek, but I KNOW I will regret it. Thanks for the temptation.

I cannot, and will not believe you cleaned your shower with a toothbrush, I thought we were allies in the nasty master bath department. Please don't ever deep clean like that again. If you need to, call me and I will talk you out of it. Thats what friends are for right?

We HAVE to get the kids together, Colton has been asking relentlessly to play with Payson, but I have been so tired and/or busy that I haven't called yet. Seriously, we have to hang out with the kids soon.

Oh, I thought it might be kinda fun to go to Sharies or somewhere before the party on Friday. Let me know what you think. Amy keeps making fun of me because Kent picked up overtime on Saturday and I am contemplating getting a babysitter for a huge block of the day. Too bad everyone I know that would babysit will probably be reading too.

So this long comment obviously tells me I just need to call you, or at least email when I have this much to say, I could seriously keep going....

Hey it's Kimmie... Amy and Rachael's cousin! I absolutely can't wait for the book to come out. I'm jealous you really got a shirt! I should have bought one!See you at B&N!!!

You are too funny. And I can't speek for your novel since I havn't read any of it, but your blog writting is super entertaining.

Here here on that dang blasted song! It trickles into your brain even if you only hear like 3.1 seconds of it! I caught John singing it the other day and he said, "It's ok for me to sing...I'm a guy." Sure John, rationaize away.

I haven't heard the song, and I think I may keep the radio off for a few months to avoid it.

I'm laughing about the bathroom, I cleaned mine yesterday too. It was getting pretty bad.

I haven't listened to the actual radio in months, (I just listen to whatever CD's I have in the car) but last week, I happened to turn it on for literally like 3 seconds, and this horrible song was on! I frantically pushed any and every button I could to change it, and sighed a huge sigh of relief that my kids hadn't heard it.

At least we have the freedom to censor what our kids hear in our own homes or cars, but hearing it in Subway? Oh, that would have made me so angry too! Hopefully your kids didn't hear any of it.

As for the book, OH MY GOODNESS, I am getting so excited for Friday night!

I'm so excited for Breaking Dawn, Luke and I are in Seattle, and let me tell you he is so not excited that I am dragging him to a book party on Friday!!

Way to go on the cleaning! I totally feel your pain with your hubby working long hours, it is no fun at all, this is how all summers are for us! By the time winter comes I totally hand over bedtime to Luke, so I can rest up for the next summer! HA!

A toothbrush that is amazing.

thoughts can be dangerous. especially to teenagers with THIS song in their heads. NIIIIICE. my neice had it on her ipod and i was like...'uh are you serious? this is a song on the radio?' oh heaven help my children. i'm moving to the backwoods of montana. good bye. :)

Good job for making dinner. You don't even want to know how few times I have cooked this summer. Now that you are finished cleaning your shower, I've got a shower that needs some cleaning. I could even provide you with a new toothbrush...

You must blog about the B&N experience, by the way. I'm so curious to know if people actually go in their wedding dresses.

We are having serious toothbrush issues in this house right now and I wish they only involved the shower. Instead it's been the toilet. Spencer knocked mine down and it landed on that little spot behind the seat, you know the little landing for little boy pee? Thank goodness I had already brushed that morning. And then Jason caught me giving Sophie his toothbrush to play with the other morning while I fixed her hair and then she carried it around the house...New toothbrush #2.
I can't wait for Friday night either, even though Rachael is making fun of me for being one of those crazy mom's who's going to tote a newborn out at midnight, but oh well! It's better than being up for a midnight feeding knowing all of you are at B&N!

You are just as funny in person as you are on your blog. I can't wait to hear about your experience at B&N Friday Night with your Team Edward Shirt on! :)

I HATE THAT SONG!!! And I sing it in my head constantly because it is always stuck in there. Stupid stupid STUPID song! I like your idea about it being about kissing a vampire... maybe I will try to change the lyrics when it's stuck in my head!

That song is horrible! I cannot believe it is a #1 song! If I had a radio station you can bet, it would never get any playtime!

Alicia, thanks for making me smile this morning. Love you!

Oh, I hate that song, too. I turn the station whenever I hear it. You're right, it is catchy. Can't wait to hear how the B&N book release went! Happy reading...
